My Distraction

I have three unfinished posts the past days and I just couldn't finish them. I easily get distracted and I venture on doing other things instead of finishing a task. I think I have the attention span of a 10-year old (please! let this not be the case!).When I put my mind into doing something, I give my full attention to it for about 8 minutes. After this, I become bored or agitated that I need to find something new to do. This is why it worked well for me in college to have different tests on different subjects on the same day. I like getting information in small doses. Some people can concentrate on a problem as long as it takes to arrive at a solution. I am the cheeky one , who will go for a drink and some snacks here and there while trying to find a solution. I am also the person who will listen to music while doing some research or reading information on the net. I like multi tasking. For me , it's a good feeling to be able to do as much tasks as I can in a little amount of time.

I guess, now you can picture my style when it comes to doing things that require utmost patient and concentration. I'm so bad at it that I lose over a 5-year old kid in a do-not-blink-your-eye contest (hihihi). Imagine my frustration and impatience in trying to get out of the crimson room. One part of me wants to be methodical and as thorough as Gil Grissom of CSI Las Vegas and the other part of me just wants to give up and get a nice slice of apple pie in the fridge. But then again, my pride prevailed. I just had to get out of that room and I did! After almost 2-hours!I just had to give myself a pat in the back for figuring it all out.

Now now, are you up for the challenge? If you need a distraction. You can go to the crimson room and try to get out of it. If you need some help, leave a comment . Enjoy! If you can't get enough of it,there are 2 more rooms to follow.

Ditto. I wrote few unfinished posts & sometimes in the middle of the day, I got stucked watching Filipino Channel & get bored finishing the rest of the pre-post entry.

Life must be very difficult for me to make things on time. I am a procastinator.

I always like reading you posts because they are understandable (relatable - is it a word?). I don't understand some people make it too complicated to understand themselves - afterall life is already complicated.

I'm playing OPM music, what's your typical song?

i also get distracted the same way just as you do. when i see something more interesting, i pay attention to it first... and later on forgetting the former.

i've tried the crimson room before but eventually got bored and forgotten...

...now i've been distracted again. hehe.

ahhh I have a comrade in you then!can you imagine if we were working in the same company and department? choosing songs alone will be a big distraction for us!

I like lots of music! Now I am listening to Green Day's American Idiot album. Feeling young pa din ako! sa OPM I like Cynthia Alexander, and mga songs na tipong True Faith kaso wala na silang mga bagong album.

aw, im the exact opposite! i dont like leaving things half-baked..when i know that i cant finish something, i dont even dare to start. pag naumpisahan ko na kasi, i have the need to finish it, even if it entails staying at work longer ng walang OT...last night na lang, i just finished the first exemplaire of our bébé's faire part, it was already midnight when i finally scanned it and sent it to frenchguy (he's in thailand right now)..parang wala na akong time kinabukasan no hehe..

That attitude of yours is a must have one for me. When I set my attention on a thing so damn seriously, my head gets emtionally upset after which gives me no good.

This entry of yours gave a ray of light upon me. Let's take care of ourselves more. :D Peace.

ana- jeez! you really get your mind set into doing things! I think that is a good trait. Just don't forget to eat and have a break :D

jo- ah yeah it is quite frustrating especially when you get stuck with no leads to follow!

neko- ain't it fun to do it? just don't lose patience ;)

tintin- me naman when I know I have time to spare I begin to take things slow. Good thing my work before didn't allow me to get distracted much.

ayie- true! you need to take a breather every now and then. It's like rebooting a pc so it can run faster ;) ( weird analogy from my part! hehehehe)

I sometimes get easily distracted too, I try to do so many things at once... actually minsan sa office, I usually do three things at the same time... surfing the net, capsulizing incoming communications and sending sms / researching on a certain topic... grabe nga. hehehe, buti na lang I still get things done.

re the crimson room, I played that a few months ago... ang sarap ng feeling nung nakaalis na ako sa room. hehehe.

Hi, Duke! Pareho tayo. I easily get distracted, saka magaling mag procastinate (which is my worst habit, I think). Saka I'm into multi-tasking din. Saka (ano ba yan, puro saka LOL) gusto ko rin nakikinig ng music while reading or surfing the Net.

Dapat nga ko-concentrate ako sa paglalaba ngayon, pero nag bloblog hopping muna. :-)

Happy weekend!

P.S. Puntahan ko yung Crimson Room later (hehe, another distraction?).

We have the same predicament, Duke. I used to be super-methodical. What I would give so I can have my old-powers back! :)
