2 Summers
This will be the first time I will be spending two summers in one year. Summer here in Istanbul will just start this end of June and I just finished one hot summer in Manila a couple of months ago. So again. I am packing my summer outfits and refillikng my suntan lotion anticipating summer like I have not experienced the scorching heat of the sun in Manila last March til first week of June.
Yesterday, I went out alone to discover the shopping in Istanbul. From where we were staying, the shopping area which is in the Nisantasi district is a couple of blocks away. I went ahead walking and discovering the shops. The shops were on SALE everywhere. Shops are emptying their spring items to make way for summer. I did not expect to see so many women in the streets going with the rush. It turns out, the Istanbul women love shopping! Think people on Midnite Sales in Makati and you will see the picture how they do their shopping over here at two o'clock in the afternoon.They know their stuff really well! From designer to bargains and what have you's, the place is a shopping mecca!
My next stop was the pool. Little by little, the flow of people in the flow is becoming heavy. Everyone wants to bathe in the sun but NOT swim! Just sunbathe! So, if you want some space in the pool area, just dive into the water since everyone is reading a book or a magazine lying lazily under the heat of the sun. Ahhh.. what a new way to spend summer all over again...
