DENTISTANBUL

A trip to the dentist is something that I love doing. For some reason, I feel at ease with dentists. I never feared or felt pain when I go to one. Unfortunately, I was not the one who needed to go to the dentist but husband dearie. He is basically the opposite of me. Fearing to go to a dentist for soooo long that he sometimes opt to take out his tooth by himself! ( not really a nice idea and a nice sight!) Since he had a very bad case of toothache he finally summed up the courage to go to the dentist. I went with him for moral support.

The first time we went to the dentist over here in Istanbul, we both could not believe our eyes. They have a dental HOSPITAL ( as in with nurses and a 24 hour service wher eyou can get confined etc..)!And the name, they could not be more imaginative... DENTISTANBUL. All of a sudden, husband felt more at ease and confident in going to the dentist. They have an in house English translator making it easier for us to explain what is aching my hubby's sweet tooth. Next thing I know he already has an appointment not just to have a tooth extraction but to have his whole teeth examined and the works!

I was very impressed with how this hospital managed to turn my husband's fear of dentist into a tooth fairy's nightmare! Now, he just couldn;t wait to go to the dentist and have his daily dose of what have you's ... he's not afraid to show off those pearly white teeth all of a sudden too :)

Visiting a dentist is one of child's nightmare!

Your husband dearie is now "tartar free". Sana we have those kind of facilities sa Pinas. Ang magaganda lang sa atin na facilities eh mga shopping malls.

So here, I take advantage with the unlimited free consulations of our company's dental scheme, sitting in a dental chair having the routinary brush & polishing. The dental chair & the noise you hear inside your mouth always put me to sleep while drooling at my "babero".

Thanks for reminding, I'm visiting next week.

Istanbul is so hi-tech ha?

Let see - hirap mag compromise sa Dentista pag andian mga grupo. Sabagay di pa naman sahuran, I have the reason not to go dahil MO-CHEE-NA (no money).

Hahaha Duke, seems like we have already met in real life before exchanging conversation here.

hahaha dentist in HK... naku.. i took the dear boyfriend to the dentist too for moral support.. the first one was crap:

Dentist: you need surgery.

BF: what??? what kind of surgery??

Dentist: the HK$5,000 one.

BF: uve got to be kidding!! I don't even know what kind of surgery but i KNOW it's HK$5,000!!!!!!!

That's dental TLC for u in a capitalistic city.

The second one was more successful.. but i had to hold his hand the whole time. Extreme fear of dentists, french thing eh? haha the second dentist was very nice to us until the third visit when BF told him he wasnt going to pay HK$3,500 tooth cap. That's when things got nasty...

I'm afraid of going to the dentist. Good thing my hischool classmate's a dentist now. I visit her, we catch up on each other's lives and she does my teeth. I get a discount, too! :)

i had the opposite reaction naman while reading your entry...what? with beds and all? parang they're readying themselves for possible anomalies, infections, accidents, etc...ngek!

here naman, i should have annual check up, kaya lang kakatamad, in 4 yrs, i just did it twice...first time, i was with my official translator (frenchguy)..and then, the next and the last time, i was alone, and the conversation went like this:

Dentist: Ah..(asking me to open my mouth, ano pa)
Me: Ah...
Dentist: Très bien! Pas de problème. Vous parlez très bien maintenant. XX euros s'il vous plait.
Me: (signing my check!)

So do you think i have to go back? di man lang nilinis kahit kunti! i spent hours waiting, and then, wala pa yatang 3 minutes, i was already signing my check, wow!

I love going to the dentist too! I like going out of the clinic knowing my teeth are better and cleaner than ever!

My husband unfortunately keeps putting off appointments to the dentist. I think men are generally sissies :) when it comes to doctors, dentists and surgeries...

a dental hospital? that's neat. never heard of one. i have very low pain resistance. so, i require anesthetia even for profilaxis alone. who can beat that? LOL. dental care is quite expensive in Canada. If not for employment benefits, I may have to fly to Philippines to pay the dentist a visit. hihi...

ana- hahahah hindi naman.. some people kasi need to have long hours of surgery e.g. having teeth rehauled etc...
grabe ha!! super hinayang ako sa bayad pag ganun ginawa sa akin ng dentist! SO CHECK UP NA YON? go back! go back! hahahaha

alma- ah! we share the same feelings on dentists! I guess men have lower tolerance on pain that's why some( like our husbands) would rather not go to the dentist...

evi - ah so true! dentists are so expensive. whenever I have a new health plan from work I would check first if dental treatment is included :)

Pareho kami ng naisip ni Ana. Para saan yung mga kama? at maraming staff? Pero wag mo nang banggitin kay hubby baka mag-isip din siya hehehe
